Three Great Zins from Ridge
On April 1, 2001, Ridge Vineyards released three wonderful Zins reviewed below. Paul Draper and his staff continue to be the premier producer of Zinfandel in the world. 1999 Ridge Zinfandel, Lytton Station, California, $20, 91 pts: Very, very nice; great flavors; soft, delightful, rich finish. This is a great value that can be consumed now. Tasted 3/20/01. 1999 Ridge Zinfandel, Paso Robles, California, $25, 92 pts: Wonderful balance; rich; very soft and drinkable. Tasted 3/20/01. 1999 Ridge Zinfandel, Lytton Springs, California, $30, 94+ pts: Wow! Another great Lytton Springs is born. Incredible layered, intense flavors; most complex of the three; long, delicious finish. Give this one a year or two to reach equilibrium. Tasted 3/20/01.
